Overview

ExxonMobil Company India Private Limited has actively developed the market for ExxonMobil specialty chemicals and polymers since May 1996.

The lubricants business is currently conducted by ExxonMobil Lubricants Private Limited.  Mobil-branded lubricants have been manufactured, marketed and sold in India since 1993 and since 1995 for Esso-brand lubricants.

Currently, the above businesses are conducted by these two ExxonMobil corporate entities, which are India incorporated companies.

• Lubricants
  ExxonMobil Lubricants Private Limited (EMLPL) (previously named "Indo Mobil Limited") was established in March 1994 to handle the manufacture and sale of lubricants.
  
  Operations include lubricant oil blending, packaging, distribution and marketing with a growing finished lubes market share. EMLPL is responsible for marketing activities in Sri Lanka and Nepal and the coordination of ExxonMobil interests in a Bangladesh joint venture - Mobil Jamuna Lubricants Limited.
  
  Product range covers Passenger Vehicle Lubricants /Commercial Vehicle Lubricants/Industrial Lubricants/Specialties/Marine/Aviation lubricants and greases.
  
  EMLPL's head office is in Gurgaon (Haryana) and the regional offices are in Mumbai, Chennai and Calcutta.
  
  Production is through two toll blending plants in Taloja (near Mumbai) and Tada (Andhra Pradesh).  The distribution is supported by 20 Remote Distribution Centres.
  
  EMLPL has approximately 150 employees.

• Chemical
  
  ExxonMobil Company India Private Limited (EMCIPL), a fully owned affiliate subsidiary was set up in India since May 1996. Prior to that, a liaison office was set up in India in 1985.
  
  EMCIPL's major activities include:
• Market development, product dissemination and the solicitation of business for the entire range of ExxonMobil's chemical products to customers and distributors in India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh and Pakistan.
• Application Technology Development Service for Butyl and Ethylene Elastonomer for the entire Asia Pacific region from the Research & Development Technology Centre at Bangalore.
• Sourcing of chemical products, ranging from basic to various intermediates and specialty chemicals from ExxonMobil affiliates around the world for sale to distributors and consumers in India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Pakistan and Bhutan.
• Customer Service activities across several Asia Pacific countries.

EMCIPL employs 45 employees. It has its head office at Mumbai, and regional offices in Delhi, Calcutta and an Research & Development facility in Bangalore.
