Overview

ExxonMobil and its associated companies offer a wide range of lubricants and chemicals under the ExxonMobil, Mobil and Esso brands in South Korea.

Mobil Korea Lube Oil Inc. (MKLOI) was established in 1973 with its Ulsan Lubricant Oil Blending Plant (LOBP) completed in 1978.   ExxonMobil Chemical Korea  (EMCK) began operations in 1977 while ExxonMobil Korea Inc. (EMKI), our gas marketing entity, started in 1990. In 1977, Esso Petroleum Korea Ltd. (EPKL) was established to market and sell Esso lubricants, and EPKL took over ExxonMobil Chemical product sales in 1999.

Currently, some 170 ExxonMobil and associated companies' employees and contractors work out of four main offices located within Seoul.

  EMKI supports ExxonMobil and LNG production and supply co-venturers in marketing LNG and implementation of existing contracts. Currently ExxonMobil ventures supply almost half of South Korea's total LNG imports.

  MKLOI manufactures, markets and sells Mobil branded lubricants to all market segments and also exports some products to overseas affiliates. MKLOI also manufactures Esso branded lubricants for EPKL. EPKL in turn markets Esso branded lubricants to all market segments.
  
  Products include mineral and synthetic lubricating oils, and some private labels for key customers.
