Lubricants

Over the years, ExxonMobil has played a leading role in synthetic lubricants, and has built up an excellent reputation. In the automotive world, Mobil 1 is known as the absolute leader, but lubricants that are sold under the Esso brand name, such as the semi-synthetic Esso Ultra and the fully synthetic Esso Ultron for cars, also enjoy an excellent reputation.

For cars

ExxonMobil not only supplies motor oil for every car brand but also supplies lubricants, such as transmission oils, that optimize the performance of everything that revolves, rolls or moves.

The confidence expressed by a range of car manufacturers in ExxonMobil products has resulted in close cooperation in marketing and research. This includes Mercedes-Benz that recommends the use of the leading product Mobil 1 and uses it in the 'West McLaren Mercedes' Formula 1 team, the Indy Car of the Marlboro Penske Mercedes team and the DTM Mercedes sports cars. In addition, brands such as Porsche, Chrysler and Saab place their full confidence in the outstanding quality of Mobil 1.

The Panasonic Toyota team, which is making its debut in Formula 1, chose Esso to lubricate its vital components. And plenty of Peugeots on the production line are being filled with Esso lubricants.

For road transport

Large seaports in the Benelux, like Rotterdam and Antwerp, are a good example of a major transport area. An important part of the transport to and from the hinterland takes place by road. ExxonMobil maintains close contacts with leading truck manufacturers, such as Mercedes, Scania, Volvo and DAF, to develop optimum lubrication for their products. Therefore, a large number of truck dealers and fleet owners are supplied with high quality ExxonMobil lubricants.

For heavy equipment

ExxonMobil also supplies lubricants for heavy equipment, such as earth-moving machines, shovels, excavators and tractors that are used in road construction, hydraulic engineering and mining. Major manufacturers in this area, including Caterpillar and Volvo, have deliberately chosen to use ExxonMobil's quality lubricants. Thanks to their excellent lubrication properties, ExxonMobil lubricants produce considerable savings with regard to maintenance costs.

For industrial applications

ExxonMobil is the absolute market leader in industrial oils and greases. In the Benelux, ExxonMobil lubricants are used in sectors such as the paper industry, the food industry and the chemical sector. Even under the most extreme conditions, these oils and greases produce a top performance.

ExxonMobil is also a leading lubricant manufacturer for the world of power generation. After all, better lubrication makes power stations, combined heat and power plants, and wind turbines more efficient.

On the water

The specialists at ExxonMobil Marine Lubricants take no chances when determining the proper lubrication for an ocean-going ship. The demands on this type of lubricant are a lot higher now than they were some years ago. Lubrication quality and its supervision have therefore taken on a decisive role. The most important issue is to be able to guarantee the continuity of the machines and therefore avoid unnecessary delays through technical malfunctions.

ExxonMobil Marine Lubricants provide this supervision by not just selling the lubricant, but by also providing an intensive technical after-care service.

In the air

Aircraft engines need very specialized lubricants. They have to be able to withstand the extremely low temperatures that prevail in the stratosphere, ranging from -50 to -70 degrees Celsius. One of the requirements is therefore that the lubricant contains no water at all. At these low temperatures it would freeze and seize the hydraulic systems.

ExxonMobil Aviation Lubricants is able to meet the high demands that have been put on lubricants by the aviation sector. We supply both civil aviation and the airforce in a range of countries.
