New phases of the Sleipner West field development boost reserves and help keep production at plateau level

The Sleipner West field has over the last months gone through an extensive maintenance and upgrading program, which has resulted in increased reserves and prolonged plateau production by three years. This has been made possible by the Sleipner West compression project as well as the Alpha North satellite project, representing phases two and three of the field development. (14.10.04)

Gas leak on the Jotun A export pipeline stopped
Jotun production is back to normal following the shut down on Friday, August 20, when a leak in the gas pipeline linking the Jotun field to the Statpipe system was detected. The 155-kilometre Gassled line between Draupner S and Heimdal is also back to normal operation again. No people were injured during this situation. (23.08.04)

Esso Awarded New Operatorship Rights
Esso Exploration and Production Norway AS* confirms that the company has been awarded operatorship and 30% ownership interest in one new license in the southern part of the North Sea.  The operatorship covers blocks 8/6, 9/2, 3, 4, 5 and 6, 10/4, 7, 8 and 9, 11/7,   and is located in the Norwegian – Danish basin approximately 100 km southwest of Egersund.  Other parties to be awarded interest in the license are Statoil (30 %), RWE Dea (10 %) and SDFI (30 %). Esso Norge announces results of West Cable well in the Utsira High area - Esso Exploration and Production Norway AS (Esso), a subsidiary of Exxon Mobil Corporation, the operator of PL 001B and PL242, block 16/1, announced today that the company completed drilling exploration well 16/1-7 and encountered hydrocarbons in the Utsira High area (27.05.04)

Drilling in progress on well 16/1-7 in the North Sea - As operator of PL001b and PL 242, we are currently drilling exploration well 16/1-7 with the semi-submersible drilling rig Deepsea Delta. The well was spudded on April 29, 2004. (07.05.2004)

Esso Norge starts up major project to increase Ringhorne production - Esso Exploration and Production Norway AS (Esso) announced that it has begun increasing production of its Ringhorne Field with the start-up of a new process module on the Ringhorne Platform and associated oil pipeline to the Jotun Field FPSO (Floating Production, Storage and Offloading) to develop the Ringhorn Jurassic reservoir.
