ExxonMobil Voyager Issue 29: September 2020
Dear ExxonMobil marine partner,
Welcome to this year’s second edition of ExxonMobil Voyager.
As we move towards the final quarter of 2020, the impact of COVID-19 is still being felt globally. We continue to do everything we can to support both our employees and customers through these challenging times.
In this edition of Voyager, we introduce our first marine biofuel and Steve Walker, Global Marine Equipment Builder Manager, ExxonMobil explains why not all 40BN cylinder oils are equal when operating on 0.50% sulphur fuels.
We are also extending the distribution of our marine lubricants in Qatar and Panama.
Our own John LaRese shares his expertise on the impact of hot or cold lay-up on fuels on-board ships, and we showcase how Berge Bulk Maritime has recorded 53% liner wear rate reductions thanks to Mobil Serv℠ Cylinder Condition Monitoring.
In this issue, we also hear from Christos Chryssakis, DNV GL, on preparing for the IMO’s aim of reducing GHG emissions by 2050.
Thank you for all your support over what has been an extremely testing year so far. We continue to be impressed with the resilience our industry is showing in unprecedented times and we thank you for all your support over the past year, stay safe
The ExxonMobil Marine Team
