LONDON, UK – Mobil SHC Aware Gear Series, a range of high performance EAL, has been approved by leading marine gear and seal manufacturers. Thruster builders, including Nakashima, HHI Hyundai and KTE Nakashima Korea, have endorsed use of the oils following approvals by seal manufacturers Kemel, BVI and Hwaseung R&A.
Mobil SHC Aware Gear Series oils offer excellent wear protection and safeguard equipment from rust and corrosion. They also possess outstanding oxidation properties, which help to extend oil life, and offer a wide operating temperature range and excellent low-temperature startup. The lubricants, which comply with the US Vessel General Permit (VGP), provide high performance under extreme conditions. Furthermore, they protect from cavitation and their excellent seal compatibility helps to minimise leaks.
“Mobil SHC Aware Gear Series helps operators not only comply with the VGP legislation but it also raises the bar in terms of equipment protection,” said Iain White, global marketing manager for ExxonMobil marine. “These manufacturer approvals are further proof that Mobil SHC Aware Gear Series can offer long oil life even when operating under extreme conditions.”
Mobil SHC Aware Gear Series oils comprise three grades: Mobil SHC™ Aware™ Gear 68, 100 and 150. The Mobil SHC™ Aware™ range of EAL also includes a stern tube oil, a hydraulic oil and a general deck grease.
