Mobil℠ Cylinder Condition Monitoring and Mobilgard™ 5100 helped Pacific International Lines control cold corrosion and engine oil consumption

Mobil℠ Cylinder Condition Monitoring enabled Pacific International Lines (PIL) to safely monitor its vessels’ switch to a 100 BN lubricant while also helping optimise feed rates. This resulted in a 28 per cent reduction in cylinder oil consumption, lower operating costs, and an end to cold corrosion.

By harnessing a successful combination of switching to Mobilgard™ 5100, a 100 BN oil, and Mobil℠ Cylinder Condition Monitoring, PIL was able to bring the cold corrosion issues under control and reduce liner wear, with continued monitoring in place.
