Tug operator slashes oil change-related costs thanks to Mobilgard™ HSD 15W-40

ExxonMobil worked with an Indonesian tug operator, PT Rusianto Bersaudara, to help reduce its engine oil expenditure by 20% across its fleet of 80 vessels, resulting in an annual savings of more than $45,000.

ExxonMobil distributor, PT Arthapusaka Mitra Sakti (APMS), assisted by ExxonMobil engineers, recommended switching to Mobilgard™ HSD 15W-40 as the most suitable engine oil for the vessels’ B30 fuelled engines. During the trial period, PT APMS carried out borescope inspections and regularly used oil analysis to monitor the performance of the replacement lubricant to establish its optimum Oil Drain Interval (ODI). Following the trial the operator switched all 80 of its tugs to Mobilgard HSD 15W-40.*
