We are excited to share ExxonMobil started production of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) at the Esso Port-Jérôme-Gravenchon refinery through co-processing.
We are using our existing infrastructure, experience in traditional refining and leadership in technology to produce lower-emission fuels.
This new production step is part of ExxonMobil’s goal to supply approximately 40,000 barrels per day of lower-emission fuel by 2025, and 200,000 barrels per day by 2030.
Trusted partner to airlines at airports around the globe
ExxonMobil has been a trusted partner to the aviation industry for over 100 years, providing product solutions that propel the industry forward. We offer a comprehensive portfolio of products including conventional jet fuel, sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and aviation gasolines to the commercial, general and military aviation sectors. Our products are manufactured with the highest regard for safety, quality, and the environment, and are engineered to meet international specifications. Our customers can count on supply chain reliability backed by a dedicated logistics network and a team of experienced fuels experts.
Accelerating towards net-zero
The aviation industry has set a bold goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 20501 . Reaching this goal will require many solutions, including the large scale production and adoption of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), which can reduce CO2 emissions by up to 80% on a life-cycle emissions basis2 . Biofuels and blends like SAF are vital to advance the industry’s path to a lower emissions future.
Today, we supply SAF to customers in France, Singapore, and the UK and are actively developing plans to produce SAF as part of our 200,000 barrels per day of lower-emissions fuels by 2030 goal3 . At ExxonMobil we are working every day to help our customers advance their net-zero ambitions.

ExxonMobil Jet Fuel
Jet A and Jet A-1 are kerosene-type fuels. They both meet the requirements of ASTM D1655 Standard Specification for Aviation Turbine Fuels. ExxonMobil Jet A-1 also complies with U.K. DEF STAN 91-091, and the JIG (Joint Inspection Group) Aviation Fuel Requirements for Jointly Operated Systems (Check List). Jet A-1 manufactured to Def. Stan. 91-091 has a lower max limit for acidity and additional requirement for conductivity

ExxonMobil Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF)
ExxonMobil Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) is a lower carbon intensity alternative to conventional jet fuel made from a blend of renewable sources and fossil jet fuel that can reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions on a life-cycle emissions basis.4
It can be produced from bio-derived feedstocks or from materials that reduce the need for fuel from conventional sources. ExxonMobil SAF is an engine-ready replacement for conventional jet fuel and has the same qualities and characteristics as ExxonMobil Jet A and Jet A-1.
