Base Stocks for Marine Lubricants

With base oil interchange and viscosity-grade read-across capabilities, ExxonMobil’s Group I and Group II/II+ base stocks serve as the essential building blocks for lubricants used in marine applications.

They provide the oxidative stability and thermal capabilities that lubricants need to handle the challenging conditions of marine environments. Our base stocks also offer expansive coverage across various applications — so whether they’re used for boat manufacturing or operating marine equipment, lubricants made with our products can deliver optimal performance and longevity.

    Group I Base Stocks

Our Group I CORE base stocks — including CORE 600, CORE 2500, SN 800, AP/E SN800 and Americas SN800 — deliver the exceptional solvency characteristics that marine lubricants require.

    Group II/II+ Base Stocks

Our Group II/II+ base stocks provide the increased oxidative stability and higher viscosity index necessary to manufacture lubricants for marine applications. The EHC 340 MAX™ base stock will be particularly beneficial, as it offers a viscosity comparable to a Group 1 bright stock, but with improved characteristics and performance.

“I strongly resonate with ExxonMobil’s commitment to ensuring a stable supply of materials through new investments.”
