Rotterdam refinery receives official ISO 9001:2015 certification for EHC™ Group II production

After announcing full commercialization in February, ExxonMobil Basestocks reached the final milestone in its Rotterdam refinery expansion project by officially receiving ISO 9001:2015 certification for the manufacture, storage and loading of lubricant base stocks and process oils. The certification formally recognizes ExxonMobil’s built-in functions that maintain product integrity, statutory and regulatory requirements while continuing to improve processes and quality consistency. The Rotterdam refinery began the certification process in 2018, before start-up. Based on an assessment by the certifying body of our existing and newly developed work processes, a pre-certificate was provided to cover the interim period until the official ISO 9001:2015 certification was granted.

Securing the ISO 9001:2015 certification is a part of ExxonMobil’s Brand and Product Integrity Management System (BPIMS), a systematic approach that gives customers peace of mind that the base stocks they receive meet the highest quality standards from end to end. All ExxonMobil Basestocks products are evaluated rigorously against BPIMS throughout the production, storage, loading and delivery processes, reinforcing the business’ steadfast commitment to delivering customers consistent quality base stocks and brand protection.
