Talking Points: Check out strategic moves for IMO 2020 compliance

In the latest episodes of ExxonMobil’s ‘Talking Points’ video series we talked to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) and leading engine designer, WinGD about the marine industry’s preparation for a low sulphur future.

Amidst the tactical moves, Alan Lim, Deputy Director (Marine Services), MPA, and Luca Volta, Marine Fuels Venture Manager, ExxonMobil, discuss the latest challenges of IMO 2020, from enforcement to alternative compliance choices such as scrubbers and LNG.

Luca Volta and Steve Walker, Global Marine Equipment Builder Manager, ExxonMobil, then quizzed WinGD’s CEO Klaus Heim, and the company’s VP of R&D, Dominik Schneiter, over a game of shuffleboard at their HQ in Winterthur, Switzerland. Topics discussed include how engine design is driving lubricant formulation and the take-up of alternative fuels.
