Supply in the eye of the storm
During 2017, both Texas and Florida faced the devastating impact of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma. At ExxonMobil, our commitment to our customers required us to act fast. As supply reliability remains one of our top priorities, we built an Emergency Response Team to ensure we kept carriers loading and stations fully fueled, so residents could evacuate the area as quickly as possible.
In order to support the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), we worked directly with a number of drivers who had volunteered to support these operations. As many of these drivers did not have the appropriate credentials to load at our Port Everglades Terminal, our terminal staff worked diligently to assist in live loading to expedite the carding process and ensured that carriers were able to load safely at our site.
In order to provide an adequate amount of product in the appropriate areas, we broke down this barrier in order to allow these carriers to transport fuel quickly. At ExxonMobil, we work to respond to customer needs promptly and provide a reliable supply of high quality products — even during unforeseen circumstances.
